havn't written a hunting story yet so here goes might be a bit long.....
yesterday (monday)i decided to grab my bow and camoz and take my dad and step brother out to a place close to where i live where suposivly theres some goats. after driving and walking around for about 5 hours with no signs what so ever i gave up on the goats and went to a near by beach front where generaqlly theres hundreds of rabbits. about 5 minutes from the beach i spotted a small fox in a dam alongside the road in somebodys property. without ever hunting a fox and the fact that the property was empty with no house i decided that i would give the fox a try...
after getting camoz on i grabbed my bow, and my stepbrother grabbed the fox call and we made our way through the trees and into the paddock never called a fox before we tried our best to imertate what weve heard on hunting dvds finally the fox poked his head up over the dam and very slowly made its way in our derection the fox at first looked quite old and had a serious limp on one side on his body. the fox also seemed half deaf because he simply couldnt find out where the call was coming from. the fox started walking off and headed straight out into a open field with no cover at all.... dam jumping the fence i began my hard stalk trying to catch up with the fox... well the hard stalk became quite easily when i discovered the fox was 90% dead it was half deaf it seemed completly blind and one whole side of him was nothing but flesh and blood (looked like it had been atacked by a dog) i soon found myself jogging across open ground trying to catch up to the fox that was walking in the opposite direction. once i got to 25 meters the fox finally noticed somthing was wrong and turned broadside trying to find me, couldnt get a shot out so waited for him to turn and walk away and he did, second time he turned i couldnt get a shot out again. third time i could get a shot out at 20m I put my pin on him and let fly.... to see the arrow hit the ground about 10m to the left of him (arrow fell of rest lol) the fox fell over the ground and started jogging off now with only one choice i began running after the fox (seemed like a good idea) quickly getting up to about 3m away from him i just couldnt get any closer running out of options i tried throwing my bow at him (lol also didnt work didnt do any damage tho...) i continued chasing the fox for agies untill energy gave out ... dam ... overall didnt get a thing but still had a awesome day with some good laughs. first fox encounter will be remembered for a long time.....
