i picked Jerry Redman up this morning at 6 bells to try our luck on some fallow.
I dropped Jerry off to check out a scape his been keeping his eye on for the last few seasons, then i headed down to my usual spot about 2 1/2 km away.
i pulled up just as the sun come up, got my **** together and headed off following a scrubby creek.
i only made it about 50-60yds from me Ute when i seen a fallow buck 100yds away walking in my direction.
i nocked an arrow and got into position, i waited till he was about 60yds away on the opposite side bank before letting out a few loud burps,
he responded immiediatly, trotting into about 30yds in the bottom of the creek,
i give another burp and drew back as he stepped behind a tree.
When he popped his head out from behind the tree he was only 20yds out,
but i still didn't have a clear shot, i give another burp and he stepped out into the open broadside 20yds away,
i settled me 20 pin on his shoulder and released.
the shot hit him smack bang in the shoulder crease about half way up and exited in the same spot the other side.
To my surprise he still managed to make it about 300yds before he dropped.
here he is, he's no monster but he'll do for me first buck

after dressing him out and all that ****, i went back to hunting the creek.
only to run into another buck probably 3x bigger, i could've taken him piece off piss, but left him for Jerry to shoot,
a hard thing to do at under 10yds, but i didn't want to be greedy and it was Jerry that that put me on to them in the first place.
Jerry didn't see any deer, he did shoot a fox but unfortunately it made
it back to its den
