I recently had a month off so I could fish the annual runoff :D for those aren't familar with the runoff it's basically when all the wet season rains pour off the floodplains back into the main channel of the big rivers around the topend! this pours lots of little goodies like frogs, tadpoles and small fish etc back into the river and provides big barra with a feast! this is the best time to chase barra  A cousin heard I was on holidays and booked his flight straight away so he could fish for some quality barra with me as he knows I fish hard  we concentrated our efforts on the two big rivers around my home in jabiru, the south and east alligator rivers. we fished hard getting up at 5am every morning and normally arrived home about 7pm and consumed copious amounts of beer  we used soft rubbers exclusivly and caught an average of 40-50fish a day with most going around 80cm with a few bigger fish coming over the gunnels with the biggest going 98cm :D well I've only got a few more weeks of good runoff then it's back into some serious bowhunting  here's some pics!

What they lack in length, they certainly made up for in girth. Some top fish there mate. Those fat river hogs sure can pull some drag. Get a pic up here when you crack the meter. 98cm, oh so close, but whose complaining. Any barra over 75cm can hold its own.
And 40-50 a day, well done. You have one smart cousin too.
