they just look and learn i think mate... i'd reckon for a young member, especially because there are some extremely accomplished hunters here (thats not me btw), it might be a bit intimidating...

were slowly catching archery talk lol

I read the other day that Bowhunting is one of the worlds fastest growing sporting activities, in Australia too in my opinion...it is great to see...

I'm just glad we can get them on here and put them on the right track from the beginning.

Meeting the Right people and getting the right advice makes a big difference when you are picking up the sport. We all remember what it is like to be starting out.

If there are any of you out there who feel a bit intimidated, don't be afraid to ask. Pick someone who seems to have a bit of knowledge and wisdom, and ask them some questions by PM. Most people on here are only too glad to help. There is no such thing as a stupid question, and if you do it by PM, you don't have to be embarassed about others seeing it anyway.

I agree with puk there are alot of young and old bowhunters out there that need some tips, advice, faqs and just the basics of archery to get them started in this great sport.

I think this site is everything a starting out hunter needs in every aspect and view.
cheers TH :D

hey guys, im pretty new to this site but before i joined up at the start of this year, i had been looking around the site for about 3 months. i found it quite interesting and some articles got me thinking (adam's back quiver in the how to section for example). i only got into archery/bowhunting in march/april last year. i have always had a bow (small 12 pound recurve max draw of about 18 inches) and dad has had his compound for as long as i can remember. i love the challenge and skill it takes to actually hit where you are aiming with a bow. i have hunted (shot) with a rifle and shotgun most of my life and dad wanted to get back into archery. my brother got his curve first then mine came. ive gotta say bowhunting is a lot better than a rifle in my opinion as there is more skill involved in taking the animal. ive got a good mate who is an unbelievable shooter for his age that would debate this but once i show him how to take game with a bow, he might come around... but you must stalk to a very close range then exectute a good shot. i still like to go with a rifle or shotgun but i always take my bow just in case. ive made some mates through the dubbo club and one of our shooting mates is a great bowhunter.

anyway, the bow will never go now that i know what fun it is to go bowhunting!
