G'day guys im a newbie to the archery and still a little clumsy on the hunt.
My name is Jimmy and im 23, live in Frankston Vic and am a carpenter.
I recently sold my shotgon and 22 as i was getting tired of of killing so easily and unnessarily, it was making me sick actually. But recently after reading some medieval books and reading how it was necessary as they used what the took down, i got into longbows, and am really keen for some furs. I now own my own Viper Deluxe 68" with a 60# draw and it really hurts when she bites you on the arm. (I'll only do that once). I still shoot a little high and am working on my forefinger height and sighting, its really difficult and i just hope i dont get into too many bad habits before i find a fellow archer to point them out. I have been bow hunting or trying for about 8 days and i am even having dreams about and waking up all through the night for a quick hunt before work. I am totally hooked, especially on the traditional style, though im not going to go charging off on into sherwood forest in my tights and i will probably get a compoung bow in a couple of years, after i get to know my longbow intimately. Ah well this took an hour and half to write, (im better with timber, and no dirty web sights) so im out.
Lucky it didnt take me 6 hours.
Hit me up for anything, cheers
Jimmy

Welcome to Archery, bowhunting and the web site Jimmy. :D
It's good to see you went straight for the traditional gear and you'll get a lot of satisfaction from bowhunting no matter what style of bow you choose to use.
Head down to your local club and you'll be sure to pick up some good tips on form, also there might be some members who live close to you that may be able to help, just don't be afraid to ask. :D
Welcome Jimmy. best of luck grassing some game.
Guns to Longbow boy that was a huge step backwards.....but a good step at that.
Good luck with it.
Welcome to the dark side Jimmy
Long bows - man you will need to feel the force - although sounds like you already have.
Have fun and shoot straight
Marty
G'day Jimmy, good to see you have taken up the longbow straight away, try to go to a club ror find someone who knows how to shoot a longbow properly and get your form with the longbow sorted out straigh away if you can. Good luck with the hunting...Glenn...

Here are some tips that should help you out, compliments of Mozza.
this is the how to post pics
1. sign up for an account on www.photobucket.com. photobucket will "host" the pictures for you
2. activate your account by following the link sent to you via email
3. sign into photobucket.com with the username and password you have selected
4. now you should be on "my album page" with an "add picture" box. Click the "browse" button and locate the picture you wish to port on your computer. (makes it easy if you have a photos folder on your desktop). double click on the photo you wish to add.
5. click the submit button on the photobucket site. Now your photo has been uploaded!
6. You will notice on your photobucket screen that the photo is towards the bottom and under it a box saying "url" with text looking somewhat like this http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v600/simsshmick/dcp-1804.jpg You need to copy this text (highlight the text and press ctrl and c at the same time) now your ready to post in our forum
7. open your new post or reply box (im sure you know how to do this) write your post as normal and at the spot you want to insert the picture click on the button that says "img" (its just above the bow where your typing)
8. now it's time to inset that line of text we copied. Press ctrl and v at the same time. (no spaces between the bow and the next line of text needed) now you need to click on the img button again, it should now have a * at the end.
9. to test your photo will appear properly click on the preview button at the bottom of the page and your finished [/url]
