While at the Queensland Traditional Bowhunters Rendezvous last month I was presented with these litte gems!http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r228/The_Gnome_2007/NorthAlbert07023.jpg

The largest stands around 16 Inches, the middle or small cat around 12 inches and the rat at 4 inches. Made from the same foam as the Older McKenzie 3D's and the Auss Style, they are quite robust for there size.

After Getting home from a realy great trip it was time to do some testing so, out went the No2 Cat and as you can see it certainly pulls up the arrows quite well.

Is that a park behind your target? This brings up the question of whether shooting a bow in your backyard is legal. I know I do it in mine but I am a bit nervous as to having a neighbour complain

there is no law in australia against backyard archery if conducted in a safe manner with a backstop that does it's job.

FAIRDINKUM! Whoohoo. I's gonna do that then. I've been to scared to shoot in the backyard 'cause I can't afford to be going to gaol. But I can easily set up a safe back stop and I have a great big long sideyard that has been itchin' to be used as a range for 7 years!

QLD musnt be part of Australia then..................

Before you guys and gals do start ploking around with bows and arrows in your backyard because you may think it is ok or legal, go to the authorities first. You may have a big surprise and i guess 9/10, Mr Policeman or Policewoman depending on what state your in would not accept "But I have conducted myself in a safe manner and I do have a backstop"

From Mr Policeman himself:
We had a incident about 6mths - 9mths ago when a young man was shooting his 24# compound bow in the backyard, when arrow went wayward into a park and the police were called. They deterimined the general area from where the arrow came from and then went door knocking. The found the young man, but did not lay charges because the bow he was using was a compound not a recurve (if you can believe that!!!) If the bow in use was a recurve, criminal action would / could have been taken.

 WTF
Whats the deal with that stoopid rule. Must go directly to jail for using a longbow then

Prob. the same stoopid rule makers whom decided that:
crossbows in Qld should be registered and not compound bows.................
Pump action shotguns are more dangerous than pump action centrefires.........
And so on and so on

The police came to my house when my neighbor complained. To make a long story short my neighbor was almost arrested for being a Peeping Tom and the police said I have nothing to fear from shooting my bow in my back yard.
But as was already said I would check with your local police...
