what size alloys do you guys reckon would shoot best out of my 55# long bow any info would help.

Why use alloys why not shoot woods any reason?

yeah i put a few through it but they were all over the shop i would like to put them through it btu i dont no much about them. The arrows were 27 in long with five inch shield cut and 132w ribtecs would that combo have anything to do with it they arnt to heavy.

W.O.W. I shoot a 57lb longbow and am presently using V.A.(vic ash wooden shafts)I have 3 doz weighted at 509g with 5in shied cuts and 125g field points and they group witin a cd size area.If you would like more info on these shafts let me know and I will give you some more details ect

W.O.W you will more than likely find the an arrow of 5 to 10# under your bow weight will shoot very nice out of your bow because the arrow has to bend around the handle, the less centre shot the more it has to bend therefore the weaker the shaft has to be, and the closer to centre the bow is cut the stiffer the shaft can because it doesent have to bend as much.
You have so many options with wood shafts, you can change the dynamic sipne just by adding or removing weight to the shaft...Glenn...

thanks mate yeah i was lookin at them vic ash timber shafts they look nice im gunna get a dozen just to see how they go.

I do make reflex deflex bows but I don't, I don't think I have had any write-ups in BHDU at all, must be someone else...Glenn...

Hi Guys, Glenns Defiant longbow featured in one of the early editions of BHDU, field tested by Bill Baker and a few others from memory.
A beautiful looking bow, I havent had the pleasure of a shot yet. sTEVE

Hey mate i just got a dozen off Forro (Keith) and there bloody fantastic. Fly like darts. I got him to fletch them also as i dont know how.
