View Full Version : Traditional Mount for a Traditional Deer.
Euro mounts seem to be the trend At the Moment.
Here is one I finished a few weeks back of my 2006 recurve buck.
Just some cheap pine, jigsawed into a broadhead shape, routered, stained, glossed, Skull screwed into place from under side(predrilled), this years spiker antler attached to bottom(engraved traditional buck 2006) then I added legs to the under side to make it free standing.

hey adam i still cant get over how successful you are on the deer with that curve mate. I find it hard enough to get within 50 for the compound. The mount looks awsome, looks like you put a lot of time into the design of it. I too like the look of those mounts and just put up my latest TC goat and seccond biggest to date shot this year like it. I'm not sure if i should thow a layer of lacker over the horns and skull or leave them natural? what do you think. here is a pic.. sorry to hijack your thread.
Got him up pretty high in the kitchen, amazing how much the smell has gone but you know mum's they can always let their imagination take hold and still think it stinks

Wait till you get a wife bro, you could seal them horns in a water tight container and spray the outside with all the Joop perfume in the world and you'd still get " honey, babes, darl, them there horns smell a bit ay"
I think they look great macka, maybe a bit of spray on canola oil would do the trick. And I don't mind you or anyone else posting there mounts here mate.
Adam
That looks real good Adam, top job!
