Well it almost is but it is made out of normal mild steel so will never be more than a letter opener but I got the forge up and running today and this is the first forged blade I have made and am super happy with it so decided to complete it just for practice.I have some pics to show also with the forge running at less than 10 psi(it will go to 30) and a 12 inch file that I am annealing so I can make a kitchen knife. This pic shows it after about 4 mins and it is at non magnectic(tech term for hot enough). The last pic is of the knife with the rough cleaned off it and starting on the profile and the angles.Enjoy......... :D

Great looking forge Kim :D

Did you coat the ceramic before you fired it up? The stuff comes off and is a real hazard if you don't wear a respirator.

Yep Jindy it got a real soaking and boy does it suck it up I used nearly 5 ltrs for the wool I used in the forge and it is only small. It also has a fire proof brick in the bottom as a floor for when I start the cable Damascus the flux does not eat the floor.I have run it twice now a bit longer each time and the wool has set rock hard.I should get the cable this week so then it will be on.It sounds awsome when running like a jet engine. :D
Cheers KIM

All it need is 4 wheels and a steering setup - Let us know how it goes over 400 metres
