hey guys
i decided to follow the trend and so i started making my own skinner.
yes i still have to put an edge on, quench it and temper it but i have no idea how to put an edge on. the pins is all thats holding the handle on so i can still take it off and quench it etc. the handle is made out of american oak.
i have learnt alot so far thou and i think it looks okay. hope the pics are not to big

Hand file the bevel first to whichever angle your after prior to heat treatment, then move on to a stone to finish it off afterwards.

my first knife finished

i stained the handle and everything. i will put another couple of coats of lacquer on. the white marks on the blade are not scratches.

Great job.
I see a nice wide bevel there, should be a real razor in action :)
