hi i dont do traditional at all really, but me and my cousin muck around with a 25lb longbow at our archery centre im left handed and playing around with a right handed bow (and shoot crap with it) but while shooting me and my cousin got into a argument on what could a 25lb longbow take down? this bow when shot only manages to get 2-3cm with field tip into the target (stramit) and not even past the tip... i said that with a jodo or broadhead you could take down a rabbit and he says u couldnt... i dont really care which one i dont even shoot longbow but i figure the best people to ask would be you guys (trad shooters) so please if u know either way id love to know...

im not a trade shooter but if you hit a bunny in the head neck or chest with a razor shrp broad head i think it would no way with a judo it would bounce off it

i think that with a 25lb bow you could take down a small goat with a super dupper razor sharp 2 blade head. just my thoughts

When we first started archery, my bro and i hunted rabbits with an old fibreglass recurve, and shot heaps of rabbits with it (mainly kitten rabbits as the big ones were to toey!) i dont know the exact poundage, but cant imaging it would have been over 25lbs. We shot them with full length 2117's and fieldpoints most of the time. Even managed two bunnies with the one shot one day!

If you put a sharp braodhead on the front and hit in the right spot, i think you'd be surprised what you could take down.

My son took his first goat with a 25# recurve when he was 12 years old. Got in nice and close and let fly at about 8 meters. The arrow penetrated about half way. It was a nice one arrow harvest, still have the trophy mounted and still smile as I remember the hunt.
