i was out hunting rabbits today with a mate and we couldn't get to within bow range of them but when i hunt on my own i always get close, he was wearing a blue flanny and blue jeans could the rabbits see his blue clothing or would they just see a grey mass of checkers?

its a good question, ive heard from a few people that they are colour blind but not 100% on that....
In my early days I hunted in a blue long sleeved sloppy joe, and gee I shot some rabbits, goats and pigs. I dont know if they are colour blind, I think the major rule is not to move when they are looking your way. Howie

i think that some feral animals dont have as many cones and rods in there eyes so they can only destinguish a certain amount of colours.

yer not sure if they are colour blind or not...but the idea of camos is to break up your silouette.....they see mainly your outsite shape...hence the idea of the camos to breakup distinctime lines and blend it in with the surroundings..
cheers,

What is color blind as pertains to game animals.
It's not like black and white tv....http://www.atsko.com/deervision.html
Animals with good night vision usually see the blue/ ultraviolet side of the color spectrum extremely well.
Blue as a color for hunting clothes is the worst possible choice.
If it was a red checked flanny shirt that would have been fine.
We both have learnt over the years Woody, as per your photo holding the bunnies, LOL Howie
Yes but that was back when rabbits were stupid, I was fitter, and the hills were not so steep, lol...
At least the pants were green
Actually, as can be seen by the paling fence of the back yard, the photo was taken when I got home. I was probably wearing the grey checked flanny out the bush.....lol
