From a press release
In case you haven’t already heard the buzz, a brand new RSPCA television programme will be hitting Australian television screens soon.
RSPCA Animal Rescue will premiere nationally on the Seven Network at 7:30pm on Tuesday 17 July.
In the style of other popular observational documentary series such as Border Security and The Force, this programme will follow the RSPCA’s dedicated inspectors, veterinarians and shelter staff as they go about their daily work caring for and protecting animals in need.
Presented and narrated by Anthony Field (aka the ‘Blue Wiggle’), the first episodes will allow viewers to witness some extraordinary rescues – from a cow in a river and a horse in a ditch to a wounded pelican shot by an arrow as well as many cats and dogs who’ve become hurt or been left without adequate care.
RSPCA Animal Rescue will give the viewer an up-close look at the work of the RSPCA. It’s often a high drama environment where frontline staff make life and death decisions everyday, occasionally risking their own safety for the life of an animal.
To find out more about the people and stories you’ll see on RSPCA Animal Rescue, check out the attached media kit.
Otherwise we urge you to support the RSPCA and learn more about our work by tuning into the first exciting episode of RSPCA Animal Rescue at 7:30pm, Tuesday 17 July!
I was asked today if I could let you guys know what is happening in regards to this show and what it contains...
A member of the ABA received this press release last week and has been in contact with the producers of the show to see how they could help. The ABA rep was put in contact with the ranger investigating the case and it seems the ranger is a friend of hunters (or at least not an enemy) and he makes a comment on the show that separates responsible bowhunters from yob's who would shoot pelicans.
It is good that someone was onto this, and I hope that they get the lowlife and string him up. It was suggested to me that it the shooter was identified publicly we should also do our best to increase his exposure as a law breaker by making his name known to all our members and readers.
I will also be posting this on other web forums.
