HI to all.. Have a small query I'm hoping to get some opinions on..
I had a Quiktune 2100 drop away fitted to my 06 Tomkat a while back & the store guy tied it off onto the lower cable.. This didn't seem to be an issue until i heard from some that it would be better tied off on the slide for consistent shooting.. Figured I'd give it a try.

Changed the tie off point to the slide and had a few shots today.. Consistency appears to be better ...

However there was a small hitch.. When i retied it to the slide, i found it wouldn't completely raise the rest no matter how much tension.. The angle was just wrong...
My solution - I turned the cam(?) upside down.. Now the rest comes all the way up in the last inch or so (as recommended by some) and seems to work like a charm..

Can anyone see a problem with this solution or has had a similar problem.. Will it result in excessive wear or anything...

All opinions appreciated...

First Congrats On Getting A Bowtech
Second Had Same Prob With A Trophey Ridge Dropaway
Tied It To Slide But Couldent Get Max Lift On Arm
Asked Guy In Shop (dident Know????)
Left It As Is
Only To Have It Spotted By A Ex (commonwelth)shooter
Who Pointed Out This Is The Way He Sets Up His Drop Rests
(leaving Slack /or The Arm/a Little Low)to Allow Stretching
Of Cables Ect.with Out This Slack A Breakage Could Accour
As A Drop Set To Its Stops Has No Where To Go If Cables Stretch

Food For Thought

There will be no excess wear or tear with what you have done, however going to back to the orginal setup, you should really be able to get the travel out of the drop away attached to the slide bar with that particular rest. I have set a couple of tomkats and a a guardian using nap smart rest with no issues.
you can angel the rest (ass end down) so that cam(as you named it) is angled back to the cable slide, the top flat part of the housing dosent have to be horizontal to the shelf, as long as you achieve the correst height vs the burger hole and centre shot.

i had the same rest and same problem but different bow and did the same as you then put a bit of tape over the cable so it stayed on the little black bit

it is better to have the rest connected to the slide rather then the cables, because if the pullcord isnt on properly, it can throw your cam timing right off... dont know why they dont just come with a slide to be honest, but i can see a problem with the way u've set it up...

Thanks for the input...

Went and did a social round today at the local (45min drive) range.. Had the "cam" mounted upside down and it shot beautifully..

Used the Dremel to, ever so carefully, shape the top edge as a string guide..

Thus far it seems to be working nicely...
