Not sure about WA but in NSW you only need a game council license if your hunting state forests or hunting for deer anywhere.Joining the ABA wont really do you any favours either as there are other organisations that can put you through the same test for the game council.
Id say by joining this forum you can achieve all that your out to do just by asking the questions and talking with the right people.
If you seek out a bowhunting club in the area your going to be whether its ABA or whatever then that along with the forum will probably be the best way.

English- you can freely bowhunt feral animals here in OZ, namely the following-

**Fox, rabbit, hare, pig, goat, feral cat, (to name a few)you do not need a permit for these,

**but if you intend hunting deer you will need a game (deer permit), not sure on the legal aspects of being a foreigner tho, In NSW you will need a Game licence from the game council if you intend hunting deer, in Victoria you will need a game permit from DSE.

Cheers,
Rick

English, what sort of bow do you have or want to use?
if its a longbow or recurve I can show you 2 clubs and you will meet people that hunt,me being one of them.
If you use a compound ill show you one club.

Hi English

In South Australia you need a permit to hunt any animal.
It's just fill out some paperwork with National parks and Wildlife and then pay your money.

Shane is right.
You are required to hold a current basic hunting permit. Which allowes you to take any animal the NPW class as feral. which includes deer of any species.
Even for bowfishing you need this permit.
If caught with out it you will end up in big doo doo's with the NPW, which can include the confiscation of your hunting gear and any vehicals used in when caught with out the permit.:o
