When we where at the property last week there was rubbish laying around the sheds as usual and I found an old saw blade but it had not been used yet so the farmer wanted to keep it.He did say he would find me something though and when we where leaving he came out with this.:)
Never need to chase steel again.

And it had a mighty comfy ride home too mate ;) :P

Can't wait to see what you make out of it... perhaps the first series of NC bowhunters club knives

We should have a think about an NC bowhunters Club knife, I have some timber for the handles. Kim how do you cut the saw blade without altering the temper in the steel or do you have to heat treat it in the process...Glenn...

I will cut it up with the angle grinder not worrying about the temper as I will heat treat it and temper it at the end anyway. If I need to drill holes in it as part of the design I will anneal it at the start to get it nice and soft for hand tools but normally I dont bother. The club knives thing may have to wait a while I am into making knapped heads to go with a selfbow I hope to make in the near future.

You are sure going to have some fun with that hey :D

You will find that the steel is quite soft once you get away from the edge, you will be able to drill it no worries.
