Gday guys,
i know this is very of topic, but does anyone on here now of anyone else or somewhere where i can get threading done to the end of my .22 barrel in sydney. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I dont know what you want it for,im guessing a silencer.As you probably know already they're illegal .You could call the gun shops and ask.

wrong they are only legal for 22 rimfire rifles

Not so...they are strictly illegal...no gun shop is Sydney will legally alter or modify the barrel of any weapon being .22 or otherwise for the fitting of anything that screws on.... They used to be legal in SA were they were called a "cuts compensator" or similar. Only good for .22 shorts and sub sonic cartridges. If you get caught with it you will be charged with "possession of prohibited item" or similar...there are many other ways of reducing the muzzle blast from a .22 without resorting to a fitted "silencer". Clearly, however, it is not appropriate to discuss this matter at length on this forum .... but you may wish to check out the movie "shooter" with Marky Whalburg where there is a scene where he shows how it is done....;)

i know a person who has a cz 452 with a sound supreser on it but that was bort afew years ago so maby in the last lot of law changes in 04 they mite have changed it but i know for a fact that you could get them in the year 2000
