View Full Version : Latest Blade
I had to give the bow making a miss today to get over the itching from the fiberglass so almost finished this knife I have been working on for a while.
The blade is L6 from an old saw blade and the handle is a resin cut to size and shaped.Overall length about 10 inches.Still a lot more polishing and the pins in the handle to go but almost there.

Nice work Kimall,
Yeah I hate bees too............
Cheers Noel
Very nice knife Kim, I don't mind the flowers at all, very tastefully done, but if I see them in your hair..........
nice knife mate

cheers forrie
Fileworking on the spine of a knife is usually just that, file work. I'm only guessing here, and Kimall will say for sure, but I would say he has used a jewellers saw or similar in making the pattern as well. Which ever way he did it, it has come up quite well and, as always, file work done well adds a professional finish to a handmade knife.
I hope this has helped answer your question forrie.
Mick
Sorry Forrie i missed the question but yes it is made with a couple of differant files and I like doing it as it makes the differance between knives as they are never the same.
Cheers KIM
I finished the cover today so here are some pics of the completed kit ready to be sent away tomorrow. No flowers this time.:)

That is very cool mate, I'll bet your wife appreciates the effort you put into making it for her.
Thanks Paul but this one is for my older sister as a house warming present. My wife got the first one I made which was pretty rough compared to the ones I am making now.

Nice kinfe Kim, turned out really well, I like the wooded sheath...Glenn...
You must be a bit crook are you Glenn you didnt have a dig about the b/fly on there..................................:)
Yer I like the wood also and am making an ebony one for one of the other skinners I made a while ago.Of course I dont have so much time now someone has me making arrows for some bl**#y show or something.:)
I should think you should be making some arrows, but if they turn up here with butterflies...well we will wait and see...Glenn...
Shouldn't you be in the shed glueing up a bow or something?
You are running out of time you know.
