Hi mate.
Here's a website with some pics and descriptions of different types of wood:
http://bowmaker.net/index2.htm
At the top of the page click on "Wood and Materials".
I think this is the Bowyers web page if you don't have it:

They sent me a catalogue, and I'm sure they'd be happy to send one out to you if you e-mail them. I've heard they are terrific folks to deal with.

They look really good, too. Do a search at Tradgang.com to find out more information about them, plus more pictures of them.

It takes between nine and eleven weeks to get a custom-built Black Widow. Their service is also excellent.

Well, I sold my first Black Widow longbow, an Ironwood PLV, to Mick Baker who has put it to exceptional use on a terrific buffalo and a record-class boar. I think you can find pictures of Happy Mick and that bow in his sponsor forum on here.
My second Black Widow longbow is a Bocote PLX, pictured below:

I brought a Fox longbow and recurve bach with me in '94. They are very good bows. Both bows had cocobolo and shedua risers and the longbow had juniper limbs and it was also a sleeved riser take down, real nice bow...Glenn...

The longbow Glenn is talking about is the one I have .It is an absolutely awesome bow to shoot and I would highly recomend them and Ron King the new owner.I have spoken to him on numerous occasions regarding his bows and the service is excellant. I have shot a few of the high end bows and the fox stands up easily in comparison.
Would be hard to find a better bow. When I bought that bow in '94 I shot as many bows as I could at the Michigan Longbow Invitational and the Fox was one of the better bow I shot. Some of the big name bows I shot weren't worth two bob. Value for money they are really good bows...Glenn...
I have an Artic fox with a Juniper Veneer on the back. Its #53 @ 28 and an absolute beauty to shoot. It's a 2 pce sleeve takedown. Shoots a lot faster and flatter than my other longbow. Definetly recommend them.
