View Full Version : ive got a wood,,,because i have a new bow
i got my martin saber se today,,,,one thing though it didnt come with a d-loop how neccesary are they??,,,,ive got it set at 29 at 70# cant wait to use it,,ill be shooting with a release will the string be damaged shooting it without a d-loop
Over time it will damage the string, I have broken a string previously and it goes off with a bang when at full draw. Put a D loop on, but remember it will lengthen your draw length slightly........Howie

i dont use a d-loop on one of my bows, i use a release that clips onto the bow string and it doesnt damage anything.
dan.
i think ill just shoot without the d-loop ill attach the release under the nock

If you use a caliper type release you can shoot off the string. It is what I use...

yer with the caliper its ok...it will damage the string though overtime. the string will fray. as soon as you start getting one or two or three broken strands, the rest will come rolling in especially at 70#. if you dont want to use a d-loop, then get some serving and serve the string underneath the nock where you put the release, this will help the string from getting damaged.
cheers,
ck
