I have never been to any thing like this and am wondering what it is like to come and watch for the weekend. It is just down the road from my place and sounds like it could be a good way to get to meet a few other forum members.
That's no worries at all Gulf. It's not often I shoot either and I have been going to these shoots for years. These trad shoots are a lot of fun and it is a good place to see the craft of archery. So by all means come along and have a look. If you haven't got a bow there would be no worries getting one to shoot if you want to have a go...Glenn...
Yer what Glenn said mate come along a have a shot its a lot of fun and not competative unless you want it to be.I have a 83 pound recurve I can bring for you.:)Only joking but I am sure we can find a bow for you to shoot for the day.
Cheers KIM
Gulf Addict , the more the merrier , by all means come down just for a look but you are better off having a shot aswell , can guanantee you will enjoy . Why not come down the range before the shoot for a practice and to meet us , contact any one of us from the numbers on the notice and we will meet you . regards Perry
I'm up for it, thats five so far.
Hey Kim I dare you to use that 83#
Cheers
Paul
Paul that is NOT going to happen my shoulder is only just getting right after drawing and holding for the photos my daughter took last w/end.I am sure I will be able to find something to shoot.
Cheers KIM

better give Keith a ring I need some more woodys for the kiddies :)
Nothing worse than smashing arrows . The courses will make you think and be challenging but wont be arrow busting , except if you miss the giant steel canetoad . regards Perry
Hey Guys, my first post here, I a pretty keen to attend the shoot, how do I go about joining 3DAAA, I am between Crows Nest and Toogoolawah and am wondering if there is a 3DAAA in the relative area?
Gidday Jager , I pretty sure there are no 3daaa affiliated clubs in your neck of the woods , the closest may be Ipswich field archers which are located near the sporting shooters complex at blackstone , if your stuck I'm sure Daryl Reeks acrhery at Dinmore could steer you in the right direction .
Alternativly go to 3daaa website and have a look around it . They have memberspip forms you can download , all the costs and address are on the form
Hope to see you at the Corrival . regards Perry
Cheers Perry, will be bringing the family down, r children able to shoot?
Kids are very welcome mate .
Looking foward to this one Perry, be good to catch up with everyone again. You know what my memory is like lately, I can't remember how to get there. I think I have a map here somewhere...Glenn...
If I had a scanner Glenn I'd send you a map ,I'll work on getting a map posted , Just head up Caboolture River Road [intersects Morayfield Rd at the Primary school ] approx 9 kms on the left is Phelps Road . As a landmark the tip on the right is just short of Phelps Rd , my mobiles 0428 710 182 if anyone needs further directions while travelling . regards Perry
Thanks for that Perry, I will be right now...Glenn...
Sounds like fun. I think i'll have to come down from the hills for it.
Will any members be identifying themselves in a discernable way for a meet up?
Gidday all , less than 3 weeks to go till the Corrival . I have some bloody good shots set up with a few easy ? ones thrown in . We have new 3d targets like leopards , Hyena's , woodchucks and a top looking Blessbok . See you all there . regards Perry
Hey Perry if we are not scoring and just having a bit of fun can we shoot carbons? Also can the kids shoot aluminium arrows?I want to come with the daughter but not sure on the arrow thing.Still happy to pay full price.:)
Cheers KIM
Perry, I hope you will have a few shots for us selfbow shooters. The kind where we can lob our arrows over the obstruction into the targets and the fast flat shooting bows will smash their arrows or be lost forever;)...Glenn...
Kimall absolutly no issues at all with you and your daughter shooting for the joy of it and not scoring , shoot whatever arrows you like mate . Main thing is not the competition but testing you skills as an archer .
Glenn every shot on the ranges will be 100% shootable with a selfbow , low draw ladies and kids bows and arrows . Nothing fires me up quicker than a Selfbows longer length and higher trajectory not being cosidered . I remember at one 3daaa shoot down the gold coast 6 out of 10 of the targets on one range where completly unshootable with my 74 " Selfbow , and this was the Qld titles . Dont compete at that club anymore on principal .
Even got some shots there that will give the gap shooters and string walkers amongst us a hard time with the distance judging while still enabling shots with selfbows trajectory wise . You will have to shoot in awkward positions for some of the targets though not so tough for the kids . regards Perry
3 more sleeps everyone . I'm on holidays now and will be spending thursday and friday setting the ranges and tidying up loose ends . Looking forward to a top weekend , see you all there . regards Perry
Perry Maggie and I will def be there and we have the wooden arrow thing fixed to I think so look out Glenn comin to getcha.
Cheers KIM
Can't wait till Fridie afternoon I think...Glenn...
Perry if it is OK with you I thought I might bring the chronograph along so guys can shoot their bows through it to see how fast they are just for a bit of fun is that cool.?
Cheers KIM
Don't be bloody silly Kim, I might find out my slefbow is not the fastest, flatest shooting bow ever made, Perry think about this mate, don't let Kim bring us back to reality, it's not right...Glenn...
Glenn I still have the "205" sticker that I always put on when I have it set up at your place.:)
Cheers KIM
Thanks for that mate, I do like having my ego intact, otherwise I wont leave the house...Glenn...
My new RECURVE SHOOT ARROWS THE OTHER WEEK THROUGH A CRONO AT 213 FPS so bring on your wimpy 205 bow . Glenn We both now any of our selfbows are the fastest flatest bows ever made so we don't have to play games with a bloody machine - thats what compounds are for . regards Perry
MMMMMMMMMMMM We will see.
Cheers KIM
To tell you truth perry I was a little put out with the 205 sticker mate. I thought I was at leatst worth a 210 sticker. I will have a word to Kim on the weekend, he will have to lift his game..Glenn...
The Corrival was a hoot , best one yet . Our canteen staff did a brilliant job , the courses got a big thumbs up from everyone and the company was excellant , thanks for coming everyone the Caboolture Bowmen really appreciate your making the shoot such a blast . I must send a special thanks to the barfly's that kept me up ALL friday night and again until 12.45 sunday morning when I wimped out , I'm to old to stay up for 40 something hours straight now . It was the port and rums fault . regards Perry
Fantastic turnout Perry, as usual the course was good but the company at these events is the best, plenty of laughs, and it's about the only pace you catch up with old friends year after year, good to se some familiar faces but especially good to see so many children shooting and young people coming into our sport-lifestyle...Glenn...
