G'Day there
I just signed up, this is my first post so I thought I’d introduce myself.
I live in the hunter valley and I’m a mad keen hunter. I’ve been out of bow hunting for a few years, mostly been hunting with firearms but a mate wanted to get into hunting but didn’t want the dramas of gun ownership so I suggested he get into bow hunting and gave him an old bear compound bow I had sitting in the shed. He loved it, bought a new bow and started on me to get back into it, so I got a new setup and must say I don’t know why I ever stopped, I’m loving it.
The sight looks great and im sure ill learn a lot and might even be able to contribute a bit.
Cheers

Welcome back to bowhunting mate. Tell us a little about what you mostly hunt with the bow, and your set up.
Adam
Up until recently I haven’t done any serious bow hunting for about 10 years but as a youngster I hunted rabbits, hares foxes and the occasional wild dog. During my absence from bow hunting I’ve chassed pigs & goats mostly with firearms. I have found the change refreshing and I kinda feel like I’ve come home if you know what I mean.
So far with my new set up I've nailed some hares and bunnies, I have been tracking a mob of pigs on a near by property but haven’t caught up with them as yet, found plenty of sign, some really fresh but there is little to hold them on this property and they seem to be there one week gone the next, but I’m patient, ill catch up with them.
I’ve gained access to a good property which holds plenty of fallow, I’ve sussed it out a few times, without my bow and seen a few stags, I don’t have a game licence as yet, as soon as I get that sorted I plan on taking myself a nice fallow stag.
My bow is a Hoyt (intruder) I think ,not sure, compound 50-60 pound set at 55 pound, I’m using a release aid and a drop away arrow rest, I’ve just fitted a led illuminated sight for those low light situations and the bow came with a peep stitched into the string. I’m shooting eastern 340 carbon arrows and 120gr broad heads.
You will have to excuse my ignorance but I’m not up to speed on all the current lingo.
I have spent some hours tuning my bow since I got it and its shooting great, I feel very confident with it out to 40m.
Thanks for the welcome.
Welcome back Clem and welcome to the sight, good to see your are getting back into bowhunting...Glenn...
