I am making a laminated long bow for a tech project at school but while I am waiting for the wood I made couple limbs out of some kind of hard wood at school. After I got it to the right thickness I found out it was too weak so I put some ply backing on it. I took them home today and put them on a riser out of an old compound bow and used some bailing twine as a string. I have probably fired close to 100 shots through it tonight and my fingers hurt as I type lol. It sends an arrow about 250m and is probable about 45pound. It is just a muck around thing and wouldnĂ*t hunt anything other than rabbits with it. Here's the pic.

while were at laminated bows, what kind of glue is best? I am thinking of making one myself as I can get full length splices here of hickory, rock maple and blackwood. Looking to try a longbow/flatbow first and then maybe a recurve later.
