View Full Version : Spelling
Nothing spoils a good read like continuous bad spelling. Come on guys, do a proof read before submiting. No one worries about the odd word - but when there is numerous mistakes, it effects the quality of the story. Just my gripe. Hope I didn't spell anything wrong.........Howie

Yup I use Mozilla as a browser and it will automatically underline and give you
corrections when your spelling is incorrect.

i agree, using c and u instead of see and you etc ruins what could be a great read. i know i cant spell some words but i give it my best go and i also hit the wrong key's sometimes so i will proof read from now on;) (better just go through what i just wrote)

Also Howie,I believe the proper word is "affects", not "effects", when you said "it effects the quality of the story", (correct me if I'm wrong.)
Sorry to be pedantic but it was bugging me.;)
I agree spelling is important, but it's hard to get it 100% right all the time.
Good to see the website promoting good spelling. (I hope I didn't misspell anything!)

Who not whom Howie. A well placed full stop never goes astray either. One person on here never uses them. It spoils a good read...

Some people just can't spell well at all but as long as they are posting, that's the main thing. What really annoys me is all the Americanisims Australian use these days at the expense of our way of talking and our culture, but I wont get started on that. It's a pity we don't have a spell check for th site that was easy to use, maybe we could have a look at that...Glenn...

As mentioned previously, the odd mistake is fine, just not the whole bloody story...........Howie
doesn't bother me in the slightest:) as long as I can understand basically what they are saying.

If you use Firefox, it has an inbuilt spellcheck - be aware it is an yank dictionary...
