With a very heavy work schedule of late, I got a couple of hours to go for a walk and destress somewhat. I would have liked to have taken the bow but I wouldn't have had time for the recovery if I shot one. As it always plays when you don't have your bow, I got in close enough for a shot a few times. It never seems to pan out that way when you have your bow in hand, but at least I had my camera and here is few of the many pics I took today. The panasonic is working out to be one of my best purchases to date along with my new binos.

Here a few does coming out for an afternoon feed.

A few others in the same spot as last week.

Another youngen that really has to smarten up or he will be on my spit come December when he fattens up a bit. I whistled and yelled at him for a good ten minutes before I got bored and walked off. He just fed and stared a few times the whole time.

Then I saw a few deer on the run acting very strangely so I went up to a path to intercept them to see what was up. About twenty filed through here, including one decent stag of 26 inches and two smaller ones. Unfortunately I didn't get a snap of a stag as they whizzed through.

I soon found what was up with the deer as I saw this guy skulking behind them with a blue cattle dog. Both had collars but no owners were in sight.

Need to get something on he ground soon.

Top pics mate, well done on getting out side with work and all. I too had a few months of overworking and its no good for the soul.

I too went for a scout on sunday with my boy Sam at a new place that I'm sure holds a stag or two but the wheels fell of my lads walking legs and we cut things short.

Always good to get out though...
