i just got the new feathers and fur magazine and WOW!
there is a big write up about "THE GREAT ANNUAL EASTER BUNNY HUNT"
these people all go over to nz every year and get into teams and over 24 hours, see how many rabbits they can get rid of becuase there is so many.
anyway these are the figures:

total vermin shot=16,473

rabbits=16,121
ferrets=33
possums=25
hares=244
stoats=4
turkeys=46

thats a crap load of vermin!...you should see these pictures.. ic ouldnt beleive it!

The only thing that would have out done that number of rabbits shot was if hunting 'NewZealanders' was legal:P;)

I saw heaps of rabbits and hares both times I went over there.
My first trip over I shot a turkey to.

The South Island, particularly the canterbury plains, are absolutely crawling with them. Some times it looks like the ground is moving! people have been run off their farms by them. They have massive shoot ups down there for charities etc.
