school finished early today (last day) and i wanted to celebrate, best way i could think of was to go for a hunt!
An hour after school was finished i was at my hunting spot to see what I could find. after scaring off a few rabbits and seeing the local feral cat. I came to an open spot where normally the rabbits spot u from about 80m off, but this time was different i crawled along a small bush line to get as near as I could I hadnt picked out a certain rabbit but there was about 5 of them, after about half hour of the slowest stalk ever I picked out a rabbit about 40m away i began stalking in towards it but it slowly ran off...bugga! looking around for the next closest rabbit I looked at a rock that looked so much like a rabbit, I had looked through the binos twice at this rock but from this angle i could see an eye...? after another look through the binos I discovered it was a medium size rabbit trying to hide in the grass, I stalked a few metres towards him and drew back the wind was blowing like hell but once it slowed down i put the 20m on him and let fly, I thought it droped low but he gave out a large squel and bolted. i chased after it and about 40m further in a blackberry bush i found him and finished him off.
a good start to the holidays with plenty more to come...
