I organised a bit of a group hunt on the weekend just gone on my mates
Place down south. 18000 acres of land with a ton of rabbits and plenty of foxes and cats to go around as well as yabbie filled dams (or what ever they call em over ere)

It was mainly for the kids and people that haven’t had the chance to go hunting yet
and worked out real well.

It was the first time I have organised a group hunt and was over the moon how it panned out. It was a mixture of people from four clubs around Perth
The place we hunted on was a place ive been hunting on for years and there were more Rabbits and cats on there than most times ive been there so that was a bonus. The foxes were on the slim list but we still managed to whistle a couple in.

16 people in all, 12 hunters, one guide (not by choice, he just had an operation) and 3 onlookers (my son and little brother n sister)

The “kajabbi yabbie races” got nothing on us

I went for a quick walk with the bow and got this fella 100 metres from camp on the first day

This weekend was Browny’s first hunt and he got a few shots off but he managed to control the shakes on this occasion and got himself a nice fat rabbit, well done Mate

Then it was Mitch’s turn to pull off a cracker shot and get himself this little hum-dinger

There was another first, with young Stewart Anderson getting his first kill with the bow (unfortunately don’t have a pic of it) so yer very successful and fun weekend for all
Even thou there were some young blokes that didn’t get any thing, it was good to see them enjoy themselves just being in the bush and getting shots off and learning, they were all like little sponges soaking up what was being told so yer i'll be doing more of this sort of thing in the future I think

Hope you enjoy

That is excellent there Ben. A lot of positives in new hunters being introduced in the right fashion. Top effort for going to all the trouble. I'm sure those guys appreciated it too. Well done.

Great effort there Ben. :D

The future of hunting depends on those keen young blokes, and it is good to see them getting a good solid start like this

Good on ya man.
Great to see everyone had a good time.
That must have took a lot of time and effort to organise.

Hey gents and ladies,
As I said the weekend was absolutely sensational
As we all know it only takes one turkey to ruin a great weekend
But there was not a single hiccup, every one that came iv shot with before on several occasions so I knew that it would all go to plan (not that there was a plan)
A very casual weekend indeed, all very easy going. Apart from the comp me and Doug had on who could get the most yabbies in there pots,,,,,,,,, I lost miserably
It didn’t take as much effort as I thought it would ey.
A bit of time of the phone but other than that nothing
And bh4e there were no cats taken, I whistled one in and Ol mate Rai kilner had a shot but stuck the arra in between its legs, next time maybe

Catchas later

Thanks again for the weekend Ben, Everyone who attended had a ball. And getting to see STUART bag his first bunny was more than enough to make up for missing a couple myself.

Thaks,
