After reading many of the stories posted by woodstoka, hunt or be hunted and from many other young members, there determination and commitment had inspired me to pack my gear and get back out there after what many may not realise to be, one of the trickiest critters to hunt, the humble wabbit. Well i discovered a thriving rabbit population a mere 30 sec drive from home and after getting the ok, I packed the bow and headed to the destination with my mate Trent. Soon as we stepped foot into the paddock, we were warmly greeted by around 15 rabbits all bundled together feeding in the freshly cut grass. As we first just wanted to check out the place a bit more, we thought we'd leave them for later and have a bit of a walk. We were ablosultey shocked with the amount of rabbits we almost stepped on and seen. As the sun started going down we sat and waited and soon enough i looked over my shoulder to see a young bunny sitting still enjoying the last bit of sun on his back 20m from my position. I slowly stood and released to be surprised with a head shot. Btw, man those washer and field tip combinations are deadly. lol. We then went for a bit of a walk and after a few long shots, no other bunnies were downed. All in all it was a very interesting and fun arvo with Trent and a great way to get out of a bit of hsc study. lol
Cheers guys
and to those young lads, well done on all ur effort and keep up the good work.
