I am really not sure how to word this and I expect to wear a some flack for it but I feel it needs to be said. I believe that the future of our sport is with our juniors and therefore I have taken a few out on their first hunts etc. That being said I would really like to see them use their own forum the "Junior Forum" a little more, I suppose this is a little like the other thread thats going at the moment about " walking the walk". Again I have no beef with the juniors on this site but sometimes when adults are talking it would be nice if they just listened.

How young/old or in/experienced is a junior or senior? By reading some of their posts I would say they are more senior than some other members in both hunting and writing skills. To be honest I didn't know there was a Junior Forum until now.

We should scrap the "junior forum" and treat juniors as the fellow hunters that they are.

True enough.
...use their own forum the "Junior Forum" a little more,
Fair enough, but what is the specific intent of having a junior forum? Isn't it for junior to discuss topics with each other? If they choose not to use it, then it will become defunct, I presume. I don't know of any forum policy where they are not permitted to post within the non-junior threads.
but sometimes when adults are talking it would be nice if they just listened.
Point taken, however kids want to know what adults have experienced. What they are stating and/or asking is "This is what I think/want to know, and I'm asking if its OK". Kids are constantly seeking parameters within the adults world, and its our job to teach them. i.e. If an opinion or comment is out of line, then we must ask them to rethink their ideas.
Juniors' questions, for better or worse, in any of the forums must be encouraged as this support perpetuates their enthusiasm; their enthusiasm ensures the future of our sport.

Couldn't agree with you more but I have read some posts where a junior hunter has not yet shot a rabbit or anything else for that matter but gives advice on how to shoot a scrub bull.. WTF. Questions are great without a doubt and I encourage all to ask, but when you have no idea it might be wise to listen and learn. By the way my comments are not pointed at you HOBH. A great example of this is a young bloke giving advice to someone to keep shooting a bow with a splintered limb, the kid had been shooting a bow for a matter of months.... wrong advice. In some cases it is best to look, listen and learn. I have not yet shot a deer yet but I am going too:D, I will listen to a person that has experience in the field of deer hunting and learn from them not just wait to add to something that I know nothing about.

I guess it can be best summed up this way.
I sometimes like a beer with my friends and to sit and chat about life etc I don't really want to given advice from a 12 yr old their on life, relationships and politics they still have a bit more growing up to do yet

i think this post may have come across as a bit of a dig at juniours in general... quite frankly, there are some juniours out there, namely people like woodstocka and a few more, that give plenty of good information that has either been acquired from experience or research... there is always information added to serious and lengthy posts that add value and depth to the conversation...

having said that, there are also times when posts are made in threads that serve no purpose, or in the case of which rin refered to, with the cracked limb advice, that there input can become dangerous...

every one on this forum, young and oldv(sorry fellas but you are compared to me!!!:D) will know more about some things then others... alls i'm interpreting is being said, is when you have valuable input... input, but when you dont, dont.
