Your welcome Dan but at the end of the day mate, YOU are the one that pulled off them cracker shots.
So another BIG congrats to you mate, you deserve it ;) ;) :) :)
A little run down on how the day went through my eyes..
After a few phone calls to Danny and his dad I went and picked him and his mate up. We went back to my house to have a few shots so I could see how the young bloke was shooting, a few adjustments to his sights and he was slapping arrows together in the rabbit target at 15 odd meters (he’s not a bad little shot). A bit of a run down on the a few things (stalking, shooting and most importantly secrecy ;) ) and we were heading out to the wabbit block.
We stopped off and got the property owner the paper, bread and milk as I always do and then we were there.
We slipped the shoes and socks off to make for quieter stalking and hit the paddocks.
About 100 metres from the car we were standing there with Dans eyes popping out his head with the sight of all these rabbits running around playing and eating.
I could tell his heart was pounding and the ol adrenalin was kicking in by the quivers in his voice when he was talking (whispering), so I said just to get the excitement down a bit we would stand there and watch them for a while. Don’t think it was going down much as every ten seconds or so he would see another one and the heart rate would go up even more :) Anyway we stalked in to a bunny sitting on its warren and he let fly but the arrow dropped a tad low and missed. But without disappointment (as we know we don’t have to have a kill to have fun hey Dan) we went and grabbed the arrow and moved on to where we could see another few bunnies. Dan stalked into about 15 metres of two bunnies using the trees as cover and took a shoot, a great shot but the rabbit wasn’t there by the time the arrow got there. About ten more steps and there he was at full draw again, smacko the rabbit hit the deck giving its last kicks. I tell ya what, one excited chappy, punching the air in excitement and here I am watching this thing giving its last kicks thinking (this is all happening in slow mo)
‘nooooo, not the hole’, I leapt up and done the dash over to the hole, shoved my arm down it and grabbed it before it got down too far, feeuuuu. One extremely HAPPY hunter and two very happy onlookers. A bit of walking around later I had myself a rabbit. Now it was time for the pics, this being the hard part for me with Dans mate on the side saying stuff like “work it baby work it” “that’s it, talk to the camera” :) :) Anyway after quite a few pics I finally got one with him looking at the camera :) so we then went over to see if we could have another crack at em where Dan shot the first one. Sure enough another shot resulted in another rabbit for the boy,,, Oh now for the photos again,,,,,,,’work it baby work it’
A great day indeed. Great kids
Catchas later

Story of the year! That's awesome, young blooded-brother. You feel proud of yourself and keep re-living those shots over and over. You're confidence in future hunts will only increase. Now you know that you can- and will- hit what you're aiming at. Congratulations.
thanks adam, yea he said he took you there before, so i really excited to hunt on the same property that you have been on yourself.
HA HA mate thats funny, the ground I walk over is no different then any other person that has walked there before(maybe a few critters less thought ;) )
