hey guys im a little dissapointed in archery supplies australia or archeryshop.com.
i ordered a dozen goldtip hunters on monday with two judo points...all up it came to $115 or somthing like that,
i could afford beter postage so i paid for toll ipec couriers to deliver it next day gaurenteed.
the order came to $122
i paid via credit card so it was fast ensuring i had my arrows by today so i could make them up and shoot this weekend.
well since i supplied a post office box adress, the couriers couldnt deliver it so instead of archeryshop.com calling me on the number i provided them with, they decided to send it via ordinary post and still kept the extra money i had paid for the courier.
i know its only like $7 or there abouts but its still not great service. needless to say, i wont be purchasing anything else directly through them in the future.
any one else had problems with them??
They should have known that they needed a postal address to have the arrows delivered and that the courier wouldn't accept a PO box...Glenn...
first up sorry to hear you had a bum deal.
Secondly dont' let them get away with it.
You paid money to recieve a particular service and didn't recieve that service you paid for so hit them up for your money back.
Why should you be out of pocket and be inconvenienced by the slack service or lack of consideration for a phone call or offer of your money back.
Stick it to them I say:mad:

It surprises me that Toll/Ipec would have freighted that parcel for $7 when normal postage costs about the same for a tube of arrows.
It wouldn't shock me if they just charged you normal postage and were going to send it Aust. Post anyway.
I have delt with Archery Supplies for my entire archery life, since '89 and have had only very minor issues with small things being forgotten but never charged.
I believe that they have become very busy since moving from 'the shed', every time I have visited the shop it has been very busy. If they haven't, they should dedicate someone to web orders only.
I order my gear in advance of when I need it and have been pleased with their service. Don't let me down!

We need to know which retailers give reliable service for our bowhunting needs; that's what forums are for- public communication. Does anyone know whether Anthony visits this site? It's best if Anthony of Archery Supplies could comment. Nobody likes to be spoken about without the opportunity to defend themselves. However, putting my two bob in, I have had absolutely unsurpassable service in relation to email replies, over the phone advice and international shipping from Archery Supplies. I have also had the most questionable service as well, of late. Why the inconsistency? CougarKing- a dollar is a dollar- do not let it go and keep hounding. The squeakiest wheel gets the grease.

I can't believe that you came on the site and whined about what happened without ringing them first to get the facts.
How do you know that $7 is the cost of a courier and not just Aussie Post?
How do you know that you have been over charged if you haven't even asked them what you paid for?
When I walk into that shop and see mail orders packed and ready to go laying knee deep across the floor (every day) I am impressed that they get everyones orders out so fast. They get most of my business, I like the idea of having a big and well stocked archery shop in my town.

I had the same troubles with bow repairs at archery supplies Cougerking and since then they've lost my business, Gecko archery gets my business now, great guy to deal with. ;)

Whenever I ring I either get the 'helpful' bloke or the 'unhelpful' bloke. Can't remember which one is which but one of them is a ****. I stopped ordering stuff of them for this reason.
I now get all my stuff from Oceanic Archery and Outdoors. They have everything I need and guarantee to be cheaper than anyone else.

just for the record im pretty sure that cougerking has made a few calls to them asking them to explain and has turned up nothing...
as for me i ordered one dozen arrows about a week ago (through my club president) and they said it should be 2-3 days... after about 5 days my coach called them and they said because they were moving there not even sure if they sent them off.... that was two weeks ago and ive now missed quite a few hunting opportunities thanks to their customer service... hopefully there here on monday...
thats just my 2 cents, that i thought id share

Anthony Jones has not worked at Archery Supplies for some time. They have just moved to a new premises and have seperated retail and wholesale so that will hopefully smooth things out in the next few weeks.
We buy from Archery Supplies as well and Steve has always been helpful if any small hiccups occur.
I know only to well what unforseen circumstances can occur as we have had a shipment from them via TNT that once I checked the tracking number the courier had taken back to the depo 3 days in a row. When I questioned the courier company the reason given was he ran out of time, 3 days in a row.
If you have a problem then I am sure Steve will assist.

I too think the guys are struggling with the move.Ordered a bow 2 weeks ago, didn,t turn up after 10 days, give them a ring after a few minutes they realised it had'nt been sent, posted it straight away got in 3 days they even threw in a basic adjustable rest & upgraded the model of the bow at no extra charge,
If you ring them ask to speak to jason or steve
only got new bow yesterday will post details in traditional section after I loose off a few shots to see how it goes

I have only ever had good dealings with Archery Supplies, always been fast and thorough.
Seems to be a few players in the market these days, which is good to see.
If your after a local alternative give Marcus at Urban Archery a call, he's always willing to accommodate. Plus he is a forum sponsor.
There's a few ugly mugs in that shop but other then that my dealings with Steve and the mugs have been really good.
Adam
p.s Do I get a discount for saying that ;)

JINDYDIVER,
mate i had called them twice before i made any post on here about them!...and where again did i say i hadnt called them?? oh thats right i never said that i had'nt called them....buddy that kinda upset me when you fired up like that because it was you that made the wrong assumption there!
thnx for backing me up mick!
so....
there is some really good advice here but it seems alot of people has had some problems with them...i am not at all directing attacks at archery supplies for the hell of it!...i simply was curious to wether other people have had bad customer experience or if this was a one off minor thing because this will ultimately provoke my dicision to wether i will shop there again or not!....sounds like i will give a few other shops a berl!....
cheers fellas!;)

Last two orders from archery Supplies were mucked up. Phone calls were made and the Shifting shop was used as the excuse both time for both orders. Fair enough i know what its like being busy and not having enough people to do the work or hours in the day. However on my last phone call I told Steve after several emails and two phone calls they had still sent the WRONG sight after waiting 3 weeks for it.
His reply was "SO WHATS YOUR PROBLEM ITS STILL A GREAT SIGHT FOR THE MONEY".
Yes its a great sight and Yes its most likely worth every cent. ITS JUST NOT THE ONE I ORDERED. Got so peeved off i had to hang up and ring him back later after i cooled off to sort it out.I kept the sight because i didnt want to get stuffed around any longer and had to place another order to use up the credit i had left over from the wrong sight being sent. Took two weeks to get that order as well.
No more orders commin there way from me in the future. Im sure they have plenty of happy customers on the books so I wont be missed for the few bucks i spend.
All Archeyr Mart for me in future.
In fact I just purchased a new Bowtech Tomkat for my young fella. Rang Sat and it was here inside the week.

thanks for sorting that out cougerking...
and darren your son will love the tomkat... awesome bow...
Could not have got better service when my bowtech blew up off steve but since then have not had an email answered on any of the gear i have wanted to order..
If they cannot handle the work load then maybe they should cut back on taking orders.
Unfortunately there does not seem to be any of the large archery stores in australia that does not have horror stories about their service at the moment. I personally have had the best dealings with Antony (gecko) and rob donnely( casino archery) . Antony especially seems to go above and beyond. Just wish some of these big stores could spend some money on customer service rather than advertising..
Couger King you did nothing wrong naming them on here i think there should be way more of it it is the only way that we might start getting better service if they are called on their poor service in public.
I have only had excellent fast service from archery supplies, it's a shame to here that there service isnt as good as it was.

Being local to the store, perhaps I get a bit better service. However, I've had nothing but great service from the people out at archery supplies. They'll definitely continue to get all of my business.

hey guys i have seen on other forums where owners of companys that where given a bad rap have warned of a law suit over defamation.....
i think its good to know who is doing the right or the wrong by us but i would hate to see it turn to a s#*t fight

Only online store I've bought from is Abbey Archery and they got the stuff to me fast and in good shape :)
Apart from the usual BS about 'good shop, bad shop' I'd just like to comment to Cougarking.
Mate, first off, if you feel 'ripped off' about postage, or the timing of delivery, why didn't you go and deal with 'Total Hunting', your local shop (Very close to you) in Glengarry Vic, to whom we wholesale to? They have a supply bowhunting goods there.........
Secondly, when you place an order you are fairly placed in the line of orders. When your order is being collected from throughout the shop, and then boxed and readied for post your order will be changed to 'Ready to ship' on the website. Then it will be posted to you.
An order you place online and you want 'Express post' will be posted 'Express post' (granted it's going an address other than PO Box ;) ) BUT once we do your order!
....... spose it's easy to post up on here from behind your computer...........
I think all shops that have online buying should have a person who's sole job it is to answer emails from buyers and take orders ect and if it states on there web site that the goods once purchased will be there in say 4-5 days they should keep to there word. In my case (unnamed shop) 4 days after i ordered and paid for a bow and was expecting it to arrive and decided to order some arrows on the 5th day i received a email from the shop saying they did not have my bow in stock and have put a order in from overseas. If i wanted to wait for weeks for a bow i would have brought it directly from OS myself and cut out the middle man and saved $. But i am all for buying locally and supporting our local shops but if they cannot handle the work load they should at least let the consumers know any problems within 24hrs max. In the end all business should know that the customer is always right. Well me anyway ;)

GoldGt, what bow did you settle on mate? ;)
I really don't want (nor did I even say) that he should have shopped elsewhere. I was pointing out to Cougarking that he has a local shop very close by that may have/might in the future avoid any problems he has with postage costs or delivery problems.

True True Glenn, Hopefully the post(s) on this thread are on behalf of the indivual(s) own opinion and not of the shop or he / her could find themselves in some trouble with his / her boss.

How is that BS?
Everyone is entitled to their opinion sir.
No matter who does or does not like it.
I reckon this thread has run its course as now it seems it is just turning into a $hit fight...

I find that I can order and receive things quicker from the U.S than most archery suppliers can do in this country which is mind boggling really. My good mate ordered a PSE XForce, Winners Choice Strings, Quiver and 4 Packets of Slick Tricks from the U.S and had them in a week:o now that is service.

rory, mate i had done my research, thnx for trying to point out the shop near me.(itsabout 300m away from my place) i knew it was going to be there before you did mate and the is NO way i will shop there...i do like to shop locally but not when they try and charge almost twice the amount for bows ect.....also they know nothing....i mean NOTHING about bow hunting or bow maintence for that matter....my old man did some work their for a while and had to teach them certain things such as how to put in a peep sight...??? i mean what the crap?? what kind of a bow store is that?? there is also another store about 20 mins away which is very similar but know a little bit more about it...not much..but some...also rip off prices.
sorry to shut ya down on that one mate! but cheers n e way

I don't know what everyone thinks but I think this post has run it's course. I don't think there needs to be or can be anymore added to this post to resolve the origional problem.
Cougerking will just have to work out the differance with Rory, send Rory a PM mate and see what happens...Glenn...
I agree Glenn, In the end we all enjoy the same sport so lets look after each other and learn from each other thats what forums are all about.

I think that everyone who gets involved with a thread like this should re-consider the TBGA Posting and Conduct Rules.
Never had a problem with your question Cougarking, like I said earlier, it's just the typicAL FEW like they just have to add to the crap and pull up any old story just cause they can.
let's see some arrowed critters hey! :)
