truck springs

gday i recently came across a few old truck spring that i figured i could make sum knives outov ive already made sum blanks:) but ive never temperd spring steel any ideas about how i should go about it?:o

Hi There
to harden spring steel same as most steels you get it red hot . then once a magnet wont stick to it you quence it in oil . then you have to temper it back . so you shine the blade up the heat it up soon as a straw colour hits the cutting edge you stop and let it cool from there
