hunt or be hunted

i was sitting at school eating my lunch when my mate chris asked if he could come to my place for a few hours, i soon replyed yep why not. so on the bell we got our bags and settled on the bus. 50minutes later and we were getting off the bus and walking across the paddock to the house, we went into my room so we could put our bags down and he picked up my bow and said lets go for a hunt and i will film you, well i couldn't pass up the offer and we were soon walking to the plataue.
we walked for a bit and the camera started rolling when i came to full draw on a bunny about 30metres away, it was a difficult shot because i had to shoot between a tree branch and the ground, i released and my arrow cliped some leafs on the branch and that was enough to make my arrow go off track.
we walked on further, me at the bottom of the plataue and chris half way up, i noticed some prickles going crazy about 12metres infront of me so i stoped and watched trying to make out where the rabbits were, i closed the gap to 10metres and waited until i could see and eye, i came to full draw and put my top pin just behind the eye, i released and kittens scattered all over the place, i waited and there was no sign of movement and i thought i had missed a 10metre shot on film, i went over to get my arrow and another kitten shot out from under my feet and i thought that must of been the one i shot at but then i saw some prickles swaying and i picked up my arrow and found a kitten on the end of it, the shot placement was spot on, when i pulled my arrow out of it the lungs were stuck on the end of the judo, the size of the hole in its chest had my jaw drop to my ankles, this little bunny ad no hope.
it looks pretty cool on camera, just cant see the impact shot because the prickles were too high.
we walked on and i soon came to full draw on a big bunny sitting higher up on the hill, i placed my 20metre pin on its chest and released, i saw the bunny bolt off with my arrow hanging out of it, i very quickly put my bow down and took off after it, he ran up over the top of the plataue and i thought he had dissapeared but then i saw my arrow go under a tree so i ran over there and grabbed the bunny when the arrow got tangled in some tree branches, i had to finish the job myself. the shot placement was once again spot on, straight into the chest i just didnt get enough penetration so he still had some go in him.
i put in a few more shots and came close but noting connected, it soon became 6.30 and chris was leaving at 7.00 so we headed home watched the footage and chris was soon on his way home. it was good to go out with a mate and get something, he is now thinking about getting a bow, i will help him out if he decides to get one.
sorry had to cut it short.
