Hi everyone, I was reading a New Zealand bowhubting magazine that a mate brought back for me a while ago and there was an advertisement for these broadheads that were made from razor wire. The review stated that because the wire was flexible that they would slide past bones and ribs ect and cause a good wound channel. Has anyone ever seen these types of heads and are they any good? Are they available any where in Australia? And finally where can you get the Bowhunting New Zealand Mag in Australia? It was a good read, Cheers Chris

i think the broadheads are called atom broadheads or something. i am not sure where they are available thou
I've heard of those broadheads before, but sorry No help on where to get them from.
There are a couple of newsagencies here in Adelaide that sell the mag.
So I'd just get onto your local newsagent and get them to get it in for you.

They are atoms. They're made by the same guys that make the guillotine.I was considering givivng them a crack but opted for the two blade rage broadheads instead.

i have read a broadhead test where these were rated a disaster that broke apart all the time. Plenty of other better and effective designed heads out there I would say.

Hi guys,
The link below leads to an article on the Atom Broadhead, that you are talking about. It is made by Arrowdynamic Solutions. I hope it is helpful. The article test the broadhead on a Whitetail Deer. This may be comparable to some deer species in Australia but probably not Sambar as from what I have read, Sambar are quite large. That being said I have never had an oppotunity to hunt a deer so I am not sure. May be one day.
Anyway, hope it helps.

Cheers for the info everyone.
Heard very bad reports of those heads, if they hit bone they stop, also from what I have read they break easy and don't cut like a solid head.

The bowhunting NZ magazine is advertized on the Abbey Archery website. I got a copy last time I was back in NZ and was very impressed with what some of the NZ hunters have achieved. Taking deer, tahr and chamios on public land that is heavily hunted all year round would be a real challange with a bow. The mag could do with better quality photos though.
