i have been wondering lately where all the deer hav gone so i went down to the neighbours place to ask him whether he had seen many. but he said no because the man down the road had called out sum kind of pest control person and had come out and shot them because apparently they had been damaging vegataion and eating food which the local live stock rely on in the dry months... so i thaught deer hunting around my house was all over till yesterday wen i went out with the binos and had a look around, and in the distace on the hill i spotted a large fallow doe by herself.. so im hoping there are still a few out there
has any one elses game been taking by pest/vermin control?

In my area, and in particular on the very best property, the deer are disappearing very fast. Where I could dozens in a day, I am now scratching my hardest to find a few. Turns out that they have been getting flogged every second night and that is why they are diminishing so fast. I saw a pic yesterday of a ute so laden with deer that you couldn't possibly fit another on it. Sadly I think the days of the deer in my area are not going to last much longer.

thats a real shame fella's, i cant emagin finding deer properties are easy and now this.
hope all goes well.
Most property owners that farm for their living treat them as pests and shoot on site.
You can hardly blame them when times are tough.
Maybe in a state forest you can call them game animals but when they are eating your stock feed they are indeed a pest.
Funny how one mans trash is another mans treasure.
Your right there clemo! My deer property down the southeast had the chopper fly over and shoot 180 out the bordering national park and on my cousins place. They thinned out the rusa something shocking as i saw hardly any when i went down there for a hunt later on.

When i was a kid (long before bowhunting) there were deer everywhere in my area.I still remember seeing mobs of up to 300 (my old man counted them).
I was scared to walk down this paddock because of stags well out in the open roaring and having hugh fights rolling over clumps of grass and bush.
Now two decades on in the same area you would be lucky to see a deer in day light.
