View Full Version : Bowfishing reel won't fit!

I'll try and get a pic of it at some stage,
but after months of waiting to go up and try out my bowfishing kit (bohning one) it turns out the reel won't fit my Martin Jaguar.

I think the limbs stick out or are too close to the stabiliser slot, because at the moment the bolt only just reaches the edge of the stabiliser bit.

I guess I could tighten the limbs but to be honest I'm not sure how big of a difference that would make all up.

I guess my question is, could I fix this or will I have to get a new type of reel or bow? I guess I could try with a longer bolt but who knows how safe that is.

Otherwise I think AMS have that bottle reel which seems to be more compact but I'd rather not buy another one.

Thanks guys.

you could just go buy a bolt just like the one uve got but bigger i dont think it would make a difference
ive been doing bowfishing for a while and cant see anything wrong with doing that.. you could take it to the pro shop before purchasing the bolt and see what they think aswell.. the ams reels are really good but they are realy expensive compared to the bohning one and they do the job just as good
i think ask your local pro shop what they think

Seems like sound advice, I'll do that.
Thanks mate.
