Great photo. Looks like your ordinary green tree snake (dendrelaphis punctulatus) they're fairly common and have a wide range of colours. Had one at work once that got lost in the tarp section, everyone naturally everyone assumed that i knew how to handle snakes so i was nominated to remove it (based on the premis that i go fishing so therefore have snake handling skills), because they are not very poisoness they have a scent gland near their cloaca as a defence mechanism, to cut a long story short i spent the rest of the day smelling like snake musk.

It is good to see someone take a picture and appreciate it for what it is rather than go with the old " Only good snake is a dead one" mentallity. I find it funny when "Men" feel they have to kill a snake because it might "attack" them or there family. If only they would spend some time with snakes they will find out that education will do more for themselves and their family than their own ignorance/stupidity. Its weird most hunters are into shooting ferals to protect native wildlife and then some of these same people kill the very thing we are trying to save our beautiful natives.

so true mate, makes me angry when people who bowhunt dont think before they act or even worse they think about it and then do it anyway! you wont find me killing anything native.
snakes aren't out there to try and attack us, they just want to be left alone by us as much as we want to be left alone by them.
dan.
The only trouble with those little tree snakes is sometimes the bites get infected which is another good reason to just leave snakes well alone. I heard somewhere that most snake bites occur when people try and catch or kill snakes anyway.

As Jeremy87 said GTS. Non venemous but tend to get a bit snappy, when fired up their neck dilates and displays blue around the scales no matter what colour phase the snake is.
Brilliant photo
