I really enjoyed Maxy's "Find the boar" thread, so I thought I'd start a similar one with one of my photos; this might prove to be a no-brainer, but not only do you need to find the animal, you need to identify it. Anyway, it might be too easy, but it still shows how well they can conceal themselves. Cheers, Ben

I spotted it quite quickly, but that camouflage for a non native animal is pretty crazy. If I was in the bush just walking through I doubt I would have spotted it.

saw the odd shape straight away, but took me a while to figure out it was a donkey... dont care... like said before, that is some sick camoflage!!!! if it wasnt moving, i wouldnt doubt i would walk straight past it in the bush...

where abouts do u go to hunt these things champ???

Just down the road...

There are about 5 million feral donkeys in Australia, as I recall from reading some government website. We hunt them up here on the tropical savannah, as well as down in the desert country. As far as I know, the only places to have them are WA, NT, and SA - I've not heard of any in Queensland, but maybe somebody else has?

There are about 300 running around on a property out near Charters Towers, that i know of. I have not seen all 300 but have seen them in dribs and drabs.
