G'Day mate. I have a few queries regarding the feeders. Like most bowhunters, I view quite a few stateside DVDs that feature these contraptions. Are they used to keep the deer or other target animals in the area or are they used to directly hunt off, are you allowed to have them on public land ?
Over here it is quite frowned upon to use artificial means to keep the targeted animals in the immediate area. I notice you guys also use scent pads/hangers and decoys to attract the different deer species. Could you give me some thoughts or personal views on these means ?
I personally have no problems with these means of hunting, I am quite interested in using some form of scent or decoy myself on our more elusive deer species. I have just come into the age of realizing the benefits of a treestand, so I am quite open to new ways of hunting ;).
Nice to have you on the site mate.
Dale.
Yes the feeders Are used to keep the deer in the area. In texas you can do this but in some states you can't.
The only scent I use is a scent cover it smells like dirt all the other stuff is junk.
I also use a treestand and also use a ground blind for bow hunting.

G'day Tex,
How do those feeder contraptions work? How long does a drum of food (is it corn?) last?
Cheers,
Ben
A 55 gallon drum of corn can last 5/7 weeks.
I run my timers 5/10 seconds @ sunup & sundown.
