MAthews have did it again, and came up with a incredible new bow. Shorter, faster and ligter than the Drenalin, the new DXT. WOW!

Here is a picture so you have an idea of the length. DXT VS Drenalin

The DXT is 29 and 3/4 inch axle to axle and shoots at 322fps with a 7 inch brace height. Mozza has one on order so it will be interesting to see one in the flesh. Looks the goods though, will have to see if it handles longer draw lengths well being so short.

Most likely $1250.00 like most of Mathews newest bows.
Most dealers will be able to get you one...

Amazing, isn't it? Just how the manf's keep coming out with better and better designs. The DXT would have to be something really special to make me want to change from the XT. I'm very curious to how the shorter ATA feels to shoot.

In all honestly it looks like a toy!!!!

Why would anyone want such a short ATA bow. I mean 29.5" is just way too short. My arrows are longer than that!!!!!!!

I'm sure lots of american's will buy it on the advertising that Matthews does, but they will be selling them soon when they find they can't shoot them.

whats wrong with short ata bows. i have a 31'' ata bow coming. there are some people in the us that say this bow is fantastic.

The DXT would be perfect for me as the switch back and drenalin only go to 25 DL but this goes to 24 DL. Arrow shooter why won't they be able to shoot them ??

Sounds like you've never shot from a treestand, blind, been in a confined situation or pushed through thick scrub.

Not sure that's the attitude we want around here.
soon when they find they can't shoot them.
You might want to re-think this statement.

Sighhhhhhhhhhhhh
Whats with the name calling???
I see no Americans on this site calling you names. And there are a few Americans that visit this site.
Why is 29.5 to short?
And why bash something you have never tried? Unless of course you have been in the States to shoot this one since it hit the dealers in the US yesterday.

Bill I'm amazed how well you kept your composure..........why I could just see the Xt being launched through the monitor into the WWW to find it's intended target:P:P:P:P

How about you try it first then IF you can fault it or truely dont like it then you will have grounds to slag it off till then............

There's plenty of bow engineers out there who don't think it's a dumb idea. Note the new X-Force SS... Now that's short!

Good to see so many of you know soooooooo much about bows and archery!!!
If any of you that disagree with me can prove to me why this bow would be easy to shoot then go ahead, but please don't just refer to what you have 'heard'. A short ATA bow will have quite a significant string angle which will put the peep a long way from your eye. It will also make it more difficult to not cant the bow (which will be a big problem for those that don't use a bubble in their sight).

There really is no need in hunting to have such a short ATA bow. People have been hunting for years with long ATA bows and still taking game from treestands and in thick scrub.

Just ask yourself whether or not you are considering this bow on the marketing alone. Just think long and hard before you outlay any money on a bow like this.

For someone with a 24" draw this bow maybe ideal but for most others it will be too short.

I have been shooting the Outback for almost 4 years now (31 inch ATA) and have no troubles shooting it at all.
I don't think that loosing 1 1/4 inches is going to make too much difference;)
After shooting the dren, I am looking forward to their new bow, I dont think that they would bring out a bow that is a prick too shoot though, plus a 7 inch brace should make it reasonably forgiving too.
I will let you know after I have shot it for a while.:)

My Switchy XT is at 30" atoa and easy as to miss with.:D
I want the DXT not because it is shorter (though thats a plus) But because it is lighter. Oh and because I can...

Curse my long arms, 31" draw.
Can Mathews arrange to have my arms shortened to 29" draw?
I have been told that the XT's with 30" draw can be a ***** with the peep angle.

If you don't like it don't buy one, otherwise have a shot of it and decide for yourself before rubbishing it without having shot one:rolleyes:
I believe that Mathews make a quality product and I havn't shot a Mathews that I didn't like, That is what I meant by my comments.
