gday,
i am thinking about selling my Hoyt vectrix to fund some money for a new bow.
first problem is i dont know how much its worth, its in great condition and has been looked after. problem two is that there is something going on with the cam and the string, it seems to be wearing through the string and i am not keen enough to shoot it until its fixed, if you know what might be happening could you please help me out or if you know what its roughly worth shoot me a pm and if your interested in it also shoot me a pm and we might be able to work something out.
thank you, dan.

anybody? im sure someone should have an idea.
dan.
Hi Hunt or be Hunted
It might be an idea if you put a couple of pictures in your thread to give us a better understanding of whats wrong. You could take one straight along your bow so we can see if the cams are leaning. A close up of the fault also.
How long since you have changed your string and cables? It could just need the strings and cables replaced, then tuned and it will probably shoot like a new bow.
I've just changed them on Spikeys and my bows. We made them using the Brownell Ultra Cam for the string and Diamondback for the serving and they look sweet. Shooting good aswell.

Dan, most of the Vectrix's will have some serving separation at a certain point on the cam (it is a problem with the Vector cams as it is with a lot of othere cams). There is probably nothing wrong with the cams.
There is two ways to fix the problem. The quickest way is to just get some serving and re-serve over the part that has separated. It will look a little lumpy but will settle in nicely. This is the way I usually do it.
The other way is to take the string off and re-serve the whole lot. If you do this you will need to make sure the sting is under tension and has the correct amount of twists in it before you start. Also you will need to serve in the direction of the twists.
As for the price I would think that, providing that it is in good condition, it would be worth about 60% of what you paid for it. As it has a specific draw length you will have to find someone with the same draw length.
May I ask why you are selling it? I thought they are one of the best bows around.

the hoyt vectrix have had a proble with cam lean since they come out i know what you are talking about your string on the bottom cam is rubbing on it and is cutting away the surving. i would be taking the bow to were you got it from and asking them to fix it for free depending on how long you have had the bow for.
if the bow is in good order and you get the string done on it i would be putting $900 to a $1000 with all the gear on it. again depending on how long you have had it.

Hi Dan,
One of our guys at the club had a problem with his and I think from memory we ended up putting Halo serving on the problem end which solved the issue. Probably a little expensive to send it to me but if you want I'll fix it up for ya. I know it was a swap but I'll see if I can solve the serving wear for you.
Kind Regards
Antony

the hoyt vectrix have had a proble with cam lean since they come out
cheers zac
Sorry but that is crap. They have NOT had a problem with the cams leaning!!!!
Dan, I would think long and hard about selling it for the DXT. I believe that the Hoyt would be a much better bow. Don't follow all the advertising hype.

Gee, you really have something against Mathews new bow:rolleyes:
Let me ask you something, have you shot a DXT yet?
If not I would have a shot of one before rubbishing it

Good idea sir.
Shoot it before you buy it if possible. (Unlike me who buys it then shoots it)...

alcock and pierce would have the mathews and hoyt bows so you would be able to shoot both side by side in their shooting alley (when they are in stock)
