I have been chasing a stag for awhile. He has been braking cover with a mate just before dark.
Early this week i saw him with out his head gear so he is safe from me for another 7 months his mate still has his antlers.
Here they are on monday. The big fella without his antlers. The photos arent the best because of the low light

He was alot bigger than his mate his cape will be better come winter.( it looked patchy).

Anyway i had been puting all my effort it to him and havent been hasseling the hinds which i had been seeing alot more of.
On tuesday i got to 45m of a feeding deer then was winded.
Wednesday i shot this hind quartering away at 8m! it was a great stalk and at that distance couldnt miss

Thanks everyone.
The shot was at a very sharp angle. With a 2 bladed rage broadhead it sliced about 100mm of hide before entering.
I know a lot of people don't like mechanicals on shots like this (preferring broadside shots). In this case it couldn't have worked out better. She went about 40m.
I really like these heads.

Well done mate. The one that shed must be a biggun as they always drop first. Pretty early too as most around my neck of the woods still have em. Good going on grassing the doe. None of em come easy.

Nice work on the Rusa Clint. Any deer (let alone the off tap Rusa, so i've heard...) is a massive achievement with the bow !
