I use the pants. They are very well made and are made from quality material. The camo pattern works a treat on deer too.

They are cotton and so are not particularly suited for a cold wet climate, but they are no different in that respect from any other cotton pant. That being said I have used them in snow and rain and with a pair of lightweight fleece pants underneath I had no dramas.

The material used is very tough. Dave (the maker of Blackfoot) hunts a property I also hunt and one w/e I caught up with him over Sunday lunch at the farmers and he told us a tale of his rescue of a fallow buck caught in a fence. He cut the buck out of the wire and got badly kicked for his effort, he had some cuts and plenty of bruises. The deer had caught it's hoof in one of the cargo pockets and tore it almost right off, but I had a look at the damage and the pants themselves (and the pocket piece) were not damaged much at all and I figured that Dave just went home and stitched it back up and still uses those pants. Although he had taken many a good kick to the legs (and a fallows hooves are quite sharp) the pants had no cuts in them. It convinced me of their value.

(there is a pic of the deer caught in the wire on his web site)

I bought some off Dave just before my trip to C.Y. but decided it was all too heavy and hot for that hunt. Have yet to put it to the test but it looks good, very well made and the fit is very good. Will put a review up once I have "blooded" it...:D
