What do you people think about shots that have the chest area covered.
You can still make out the your spot to hit but there is a bit of long grass thin lantana, tea tree anything nothing more than a metre in front of your game. Would deflection be a problem? I was in this position this afternoon and decided to wait at 20m sat for about 15min but was winded im shore the shot would have worked out there was bracken fern in front. I thought to my self wait wait. If i had taken the shot and it didnt work out i would have pissed at my self. I still think i went the right way about it.
Just wondered if people have taken these shots and if they worked out or not?

Mate, i have had some bad deflections from unseen single lantana branches. Had at ten meters and the arrow ended up in the ground 5m behind where it stood. I also had a huge stag once at 35m uphill shot and a small yellow flowered shrud stopped my right there 3m in front of the deer. Arrow was heading clear for its chest. Tough call sometimes but arrows deflect pretty easily.

Each situation is different i think clint, I have taken my fair share of 'risky' shots with brush in front of my target, some have come off, others have not. If the animal is relaxed and will probably feed into a better position, then i'd be tempted to wait, but if its the only chance you get, and you rekon you can pull it off then its worth a crack i rekon.

Thats about what i thought. Ant i have had similar experience with lantana it can be hard to get a clear shot hunting in the stuff.
In a way i dont like getting close to deer even if they arent on to you. Waiting always feels like a time bomb before they wind you. In my case most situations they do. Its all part of it though

I would hate to see an arrow in the back end of a deer from deflection so i guess ill be waiting
thanks blokes.
Great DVD Maxy!
