its impossible for sure so you lose lol.
if you use a arrow of atleast 5g per pound it is not possible. bows will never be 100% effecient and at the best they are around 85% i have heard. dont quote me tho
At IBO (5 grains/pound) apparently it is impossible. That's what if been told anyway.
Under 5 grains per pound I have read about bows getting real close.

I say yes,
Forget the 5 grain per pound, it was not so long ago that the requirement was something like 8 or 9 grain per pound at international comps.
I would imagine that it is possible but who would want to draw the bow given the draw force curve that goes with it. The question is what arrow development is taking place next to replace Carbon...
I know it's not commercially available but Kevin Strother is out to break his speed record with the new Elite Synergy XT (customised for him). He is looking to break 600fps and the rumor is with a 150# bow :o:confused:

The iron mace can shoot close to 400 fps with an arrow of about 3 grains per pound I think the warranty still covers this if you use the HCA arrows. If the bows can handle these light arrows they might become more common and the IBO will be a starting point for speed rather than a maximum as it is now :D
