View Full Version : Whats out there for kids?
I have a friend who rang today saying her 11 year old wants a compound bow for Xmas with all the extras and as she has no idea where to begin, asked for my help.
What are the better youth bows available and how much would she expect to pay for a package with arrows etc thrown in?
Thanks, Dave.

best youth bow on the market is by far the browning micro midas 4, but you pay $375 just for the bow... assuming she doesnt want to spend that much, something like the Discovery or genesis would be ideal because theyre a good brand but they dont have let off, so they can be drawn out as far or short as they want from stationary to 30" most of them... not too sure of the price of them, but you can get proline ready to go packages from like $180 with armguards, arrows, targets... evrything...

The Midas 4 as mentioned already is a very good bow.
But the Discovery is also a very good bow.
They would be my 2 top picks...

I forgot to mention the Redzone/ Proline out there for the budget minded parent.
Its a compound that comes with a finger tab, arm guard, peep, sight, 3 arrows, quiver and a soft case appx $125.00 plus whatever shipping would cost...

I bought my 10 year old a 2006 Hoyt Banshee.
A bit more expensive than the others listed but it has 8" of draw adjustment and poundage can be adjusted from 25 to 45#.
Should suit him until he is in his later teen years, so worth the initial investment.
Cost was around the $300 mark.
