View Full Version : Arrow price question
Due to the lack of a good archery store in my area:mad:, I order a bit of stuff over the net.
I got a price for 12 Easton axis 300 arrows complete with index able nock fletching to my specks, cut to my required length, point insert fitted and supplied with 100gr field points for $160 including freight and tax.
Is this a fair price or should I keep looking?
I save a fare bit buying bare shafts and building them to my own likings. But that price sounds reasonable too me. Gecko Archery does mail orders, try them for pricing mate.

you can get a basic fleting jig for $100 to get you started pack of 5" vanes $20 per 100 and make about a dozen an hour or more lot cheaper
I got a fletching jig from 3 rivers for $25 and it works really well very easy to set up and use on any shaft.

ive got a basic fletching jig and accessories but generally buy made shafts and just use if for repairs, just find it easier like clemo said...
now back to the topic as far as i know that seems a fair price but could be wrong... either way you go good luck with them...

I don't know where you are in the Hunter Valley but there is a really good archery shop in Teralba near Lake Macquarie. PM me if you want the contact details. You can get them when you do a trip into Newcastle
Their prices are pretty reasonable and great service too.

Not sure exactly how much postage would be from U.S, but I'm guessing US$35, which means you could get the AXISs for $140 made up, at https://greeneoutdoors.com/CustomArrows.asp
I've ordered a few things from this bunch recently, and they've been excellent. My mate shoots AXIS' made up by these guys with 2in Blazers, and they seem very well made. I haven't bought arrows from them before but will be next time.

Try building your own. That way you cut out the middle man.

Easton St Axis quote:
1 Doz shafts $109.95
Labour $37.50
Vanes - depends on what you want them fletched with and then postage.
$160 made up for these shafts is about the right money. Our service includes squaring (G5 squaring device), Indexing nock to your preference and occasionally we include a smile.
Kind Regards
Antony

I already got my arrows but thanks for your input. I did check out your site but I had already ordered. I am very happy with the job they did, everything was as per my specifications and they through in a dozen fied points as well.
Arrows arrived 3 days after I placed order so I have no complaints at all.
