I don't hate any individual pet cats. I will pat friends cats, etc.
But i hate the IDEA of having cats in Australia. I would also like to see them removed from our ecosystems completely.

I hate feral cats, and have them near the top of my hit list with the bow.

Also, i don't hate cats so much as the kind of owners who seriously think cats are good for Australia, as they "don't really kill that much wildlife", and anyway, they compete with other predators keeping their numbers down...
These are the kind who will find their little pet standing over a dead bandicoot with a bloody face and say "Oh, something killed that bandicoot and my little snookums came along and found it already dead. She wouldn't do that!":o That really pisses me off.

i have a cat sitting next to me right now, shes got all the latest gear on too, from bird bells to a reflective collar...she has no hope. as much as i like cats it still wouldn't stop me from shooting one and thats something i'd like to achieve.

mixed bad for me, if i saw a feral cat in the wild and knew 100% that it was feral then i would shoot it, but unless im 100% sure and no less would i shoot it... there are people out there including myself partly who love their cats to death, how would you feel if you shot a cat and a few days later a 5 year old girl came around looking for the the same lost cat..? or vise veresa would you like to be that girl..?

if you have got one look at your family pet whatever it is cat, dog, bird anything... could you shoot it...? or would you want somone else to shoot it?

i no that cats are killers, my cat has only 3 legs and he brings in the occasional bird, im not denying it...? would i shoot it, no way in hell...

prehaps you all should consider that before you shoot that cat that may be feral, think about the family that the cat is going home to...?

I like cats, they're probably the best predator out there. I like their attitude too, they don't kow-tow to anyone. I don't like what they do to native fauna when their numbers are not controlled, but that's not their fault, they're just doing what comes naturally.

I'm not a fan of cats.

What really pisses me off is the ignorance of SOME cat owners when it comes to responsably looking after the cat as well as our NATIVE fauna.
If I or anyone else let their dog roam the streets day/night we'd be fined and could even see criminal charges if the dog bites or gets hit by a car.
Yet millions of cats are LET/LEFT out over night to kill who knows how many natives a night with out any sort of fine ever been imposed on these slack cat owners.

As for being feral or domestic I see NO difference between the two if the owners take no due care to control their cats killing sprees.

My Mum has a cat that is let out side only during the day and is only ever out side when Mum is and is never left out to do what other cats do.
So do I like my Mums cat.......... HELL NO! :P

Unfortunately you know nothing about me or the reasons I hunt young fella.
I have been hunting for 20 odd years and do it for pest control , food for the table and the odd trophy.Im very ethical and am only getting into bowhunting for a new challenge.
If a cat is out there killing native wild life yes im gunna shoot it , if these cats were kept inside no problems.
Maybe you should get to know someone before making comments like that.

Feral cats though, different story.. the only good cat in the bush is a dead cat.. there's no room for them in our bush.

Well i've got a good pussy...cat...and she stay's inside at night and if she's outside she got her queer coller on, u know the one with the bells. But I am with the blokes here who are up the irrasponsible pet owners who dont know a thing about responsibilities. My cat is for keeping the mice and snakes down in me shed. I've got six horses to feed so that means alot of feed, with a lot of grain, oat, barley and hay lying around it attracts mice, therefore attracts snakes and that's what my kitty is for...the earns her feed but the day a native turns up on my doorstep...bye bye kitty!!!!!!!!!! Well i hate any kitty domestic or feral...there all the same, got the same killer attitude, kill, eat, and breed...

I have shot a lot of cats in the bush and had two of my own put down when they have killed natives. IMO its a fine line between a pet and a pest.

I had a friend 20 odd years ago that was going for his ABA Master Bowhunter, one day when he was at my inlaws with me I thought he was patting their fat old cat, he later told me it would go trophy class and he was not patting him he was measuring his skull.:eek: Can you claim a cat shot in the main street of your local neighborhood?

when i was about 3/4 years old i went to the doctors and he took my temp not in my mouth but were the sun dont shine. when i got home i thought or cat looked a bit pale ,my mum being a keen knitter had a few spare knitting needles lying around.you can proberbly guess the rest of the story. we havnt seen the cat or the knitting needle since

As for the hunting side of things, if a cat is outside of a residential area its fair game (where there is no chance of some little girl owning it). As many other people have said, you gotta respect your game and how it hunts its prey, its a talented hunter you gotta admit.

I dont and can't hate any animal. They do what they do by instinct. Yeah cats killing natives really sucks, but hey what about the other introduced pests wither killing directly or indirectly through competition and destruction of natural habitats...Pigs, Dogs, Horses, Cattle, Buffalo and worste of all Humans. Though there are some of the last animal in that list that I have learnt to hate. ; )

i own one and my girlfriend owns one! Both of these cats do not leave the house . I think its more the owners responsability to keep there cats in toe than the cats fault.

we had an incident here in town only a couple of day's ago where a 13 and a 17 year old more or less tortured 9 kittens and there mother they started be throwing them against the back fence then one would hold one of the cats while the other beat it with a plastic cricket bat then they pored petrol over them and burnt them (some still alive). Take a look at the profiles for identifiying killers such as mass murders or serial killers and you'll find that this type of behaviour in childhood is a typical indicator of how they wil turn out. Not just sick as you say but much rather disturbing, especially if the live near you.

as you all most likely know, cats dont know they are doing damage to the earth, they are just trying to survive therefore kill and eat what they can get their paws on.

i like cats as much as i like any other animal, still wouldn't stop me from shooting a feral cat but i have respect for both ferals and domestic cats.
