Continuing on from 2007 is the TBGA Game Tally 2008.
We have reset the count to zero in all categories to see how we go for this year.
The intention of this tally is to record what game numbers are taken throughout the year of 2008 by members of TBGA.
It is the Management Team's thoughts that this will make a good representation of the efforts we as bowhunters are making towards the control of feral and introduced species within Australia.
It must be stressed however that this is a tally only. It is not a competition, there are no goals to reach and in no way does the existence of this tally indicate that TBGA supports shooting for numbers sake only.
It is not that we want to see how many animals we CAN take during 2008, rather how many we DO take. So it is implored by the Management Team that you do not go out to hunt just to add to the tally to make it look good...rather you add to the tally after you come back from hunting, with the hunt your focus, not the tally.
So, how's this thing going to work? After you return from your hunt post a reply under this listing the game taken. Easy. Please list sex of each major game animal (pigs, goats and deer).
For example I might list the following:

4 rabbits, 3 boars, 2 sows.
Please only post on the tally for the actual game taken by YOURSELF...not of the other hunters on the trip...this will avoid double posting and thus, misrepresentation and inaccuracy of results.
After you have posted your tally, one of the Management Team will add it to the running total (that you will see at the bottom of this post) and they will then DELETE your post.
Please DO NOT post any "REPLIES" or start any discussion as to who took what and how many etc etc...this will avoid the tally becoming a "competition", avoiding us going down the line of the "I shot more than you so I'm better" thing... as is the point of deleting the posts you make after they've been tallied by a Management Team member.
We really would like to make this as accurate as possible to give us some real and genuine statistics on our effectiveness as bowhunters.
